Aged for 24 months in oak casks and then in bottles for several years.

Winemaking Process:
Quinta do Panascal has one of the Douro Valley's most reputable vineyards and produces wines that are Fonseca Vintage Port hallmarks.

Tasting Notes:
A fat, full and tasty Port wine.
Full of rounded ripe fruit jam aromas.
Almost like hot marmalade notes to the nose.
The maturity and fruit richness are enhanced in the mouth with, ripe and juicy, plum and cherry flavor.
Great notes of smoky tea (lapsang) and spice.
A hot velvety and satin wine.
A wine with very attractive texture!

YEAR NOTES
The 2003/2004 winter was very dry, with only 1/3 of rainfall recorded in the previous winter.
The lack of water during the early growing season enormously reduced the pressure on the risk of disease.
In July, the biggest concern was the possibility of the vineyards not having the ability to sufficiently ripen the grapes, due to the drastic water shortage.
The harvest stood out for perfect weather conditions throughout the entire period.
Young Port wines showed good structure, with very fresh wild berries aromas, the result of a ripening period relatively cooler than normal.
