Located in the heart of the Serras de Aire e Candeeiros Natural Park, the Rio Maior Natural Salt Pans are fed by an underground water stream that flows through an extensive rock salt deposit formed over thousands of years. Collected in a traditional way, fleur de sel is made up of crystals formed on the surface of the salt pan. Naturally white in colour, it is the essence of the best salt.
